Prototyping of Microfluidic Device
Description:
The workshop will combine lectures with hands-on sessions to provide both theoretical background and practical experience. Participants will engage in software-based design exercises, and live demonstrations of fabrication techniques.
This workshop offers a comprehensive overview of microfluidic device design and fabrication, from layout creation using tools like AutoCAD and to photolithography and soft-lithography techniques such as PDMS molding. Attendees will also explore alternative prototyping methods including 3D printing and laser cutting, and gain insight into materials selection, device sealing, and surface treatments. The workshop further covers fluid handling strategies and introduces imaging and data analysis tools for experimental validation. By the end, participants will be equipped with the practical skills and foundational knowledge needed to prototype and evaluate microfluidic devices for research or product development.

Participants Will Need the Following:
Laptops with AutoCAD or KLayout loaded ahead of time would be useful to participants.
